VENUS FEST |

"When colour is put on an object, it's dead.

When it's projected in space,
it's alive, it's rich, it varies, it vibrates."

―Carlos Cruz-Diez

VENUS FEST is a gender-expansive, trans//femme-forward festival based in Tkaronto, taking place at the historic Allan Garden Palm House.

THE PLACE BEHIND THE PALMS

The Palm House @ Allan Gardens is also known as “The Dome”, it is the oldest architecturally significant greenhouse. The Palm House was built in 1910 after a 1902 fire destroyed the old botanical pavilion.

The restored Palm House (2025) contains Bismarckian, Washingtonias, and Foxtail Palms from all over the word. Since its renovation, The Palm House has opened its doors to the public, after hours for Venus Fest.

A visual and sonic representation of a plant’s life cycle. Using a combination of cool and warm tones to represent cellular growth, the concept aligns with the festival’s celebration of new life in growing communities.
