BEATS + SKATES is a multidisciplinary collective of Toronto-based roller skaters, beat makers and street artists dedicated to using collaborative art making approaches as relational storytelling.
The BEATS + SKATES Residency is a multidisciplinary residency that celebrates hip hop through movement arts, music and visual culture. We pair multidisciplinary emerging artists with professionals to residency, and a roller skating residency. Residents showcase what they’ve learned to a live audience at the BEATS + SKATES Showcase.
This residency is supported by Loop Sessions Toronto and Toronto Arts Council.
BEATS + SKATES organizes DIY community activations that foster meaningful relationships between artists across disciplines.
